T O P I C R E V I E WPhilipLooks like the US senate approved US $ 15.6 billion for 2005 ... an extra $ 500 million for shuttle Ops and extra $ 300 million for a Hubble servicing mission ... but still far away from the budget requested for a return to the Moon & Mars ...machbustermanNo-one should be surprised that the funding for a manned program hasn't been put in place yet... My guess is they'd like to have a few ideas on the drawing board before they have Congress award hundreds of billions of $'s to NASA.DavidHActually, the $16.2 billion which Congress approved for NASA's FY05 budget does include the funding requested for the Vision for Space Exploration. (With some exceptions, such as a decreased allotment for the planned robotic lunar orbiter mission). The Vision does not require the investment of "hundreds of billions" of dollars in a single budget year, but rather relatively slight increases over current funding levels on a period of several years. For more information: http://www.space.com/news/nasa_budget_041122.html ------------------ http://allthese worlds.hatbag.net/space.php "America's challenge of today has forged man's destiny of tomorrow." - Commander Eugene Cernan, Apollo 17 Mission, 11 December 1972
